Pistachio

I made this flavor for a homemade icecream contest. It made second place. I hope you like it.





Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of whipping cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • a teaspoon of vanilla and almond extract
  • 1 cup of crushed and shelled pistachios

Instructions:

  1. Crack the eggs and put them in a bowl (that holds at least one quart).
  2. Whisk in the sugar a bit at a time. Add milk, cream and the vanilla and almond extracts and then stir well. If you want to add a bit of food coloring, add that in while you stir.
  3. Get out your icecream maker* and put the liquid in.
  4. When the icecream starts to get creamy, (about 12 min.), put the pistachios in. Wait a while longer and you'll be done!

Makes 1 Quart

* You may want to refrigerate the mixture for about 5 minutes to get it cooled off
